The "Lonesome" Pine has a Temporary Buddy

Actually, its a cedar tree...but who cares...it smells kind of 'pine-y'! Seems like everyone is really in the Christmas spirit here in BloggyWorld. I've seen pictures of some really beautiful --and unusual trees. So, in that vein, I thought I would give you an up close and personal look at some of my favorite ornaments on our tree.

This one comes in at #1! A polaroid picture with garland taped on it. Remember, I told you about this one a few days ago in the 25 Questions Meme? Kind of cheesy, but that nurse will never know what this meant to me on that particular day!

Notice she's sleeping on her tummy...what a no-no these days. Thank goodness no one knew about the dangers of tummy sleeping back then. She would SCREAM if you turned her on her back for the first 6 weeks of her life! It was sure fun changing her diaper!

Okay, none of the rest of these are in any particular order. Just ornaments I love.

It's funny to me how popular the new "Elf On A Shelf" seems to be this year. We've had these little elves on our tree for as long as I can remember! There used to be a red one and a green one. I'm not sure what happened to the green one...maybe one of my brothers has it. You can see this little guy has had some wear and tear...you would look a little rough too if you were...40-something! I love him anyway.

Ahhh..one of my Bex treasures. She colored and glittered this one at 3. Bless those Sunday School teachers!!!!

This one is circa Bex at 2. Yes, those Sunday School teachers have my utmost respect! How many ways can you use an empty toilet paper tube? It says "Jesus Lights My Life"...yes, He does.

I confess, I like this little guy. We have several on our tree. I'll also confess I saw one at a craft show, took a picture and came home and copied their idea. I like him anyway!

This is one of Bex's favorite ornaments. I'm not sure how "Christmasy" this is, but I like it too!

This gal tops our tree this year. Sometimes we have a star...but some years the angel gets the top spot. You know, 'Angels we have heard on high.' This always reminds me of Max Lucado's Christmas book "Alabaster's Song." It also reminds me, we need to read "The Crippled Lamb" again...even though I always cry.

Here's our eclectic, finished product. Not a huge tree, but Bex decorated it and it holds many memories in its branches.

Note to self: Maybe clean the dust off the light fixture before taking many more pictures?...{sigh}

Stay tuned!

Very sweet! I'm inspired now, Meg. I'll have to post a picture of our tree.

I love your ornaments and more than that, I love the stories behind them. Isn't it fun to pull them out and remember them?

Great ornaments! The elf looks like one of my brothers with their overgrown hair and pointy ears...

Nice!

You know, I haven't been posting much lately over in my blog world. I thought I would post a pic of my tree, but after the kids and three kittens have reeked havoc on it, it ain't so pretty anymore. Maybe next year, children will stop pulling ornaments off. I thought it would be this year, with Anna being 2 1/2, but no. Maybe next....

What a great idea! I love seeing the ornaments on peoples' trees. Most of the time, they're full of sweet, personal memories! You've inspired me, too, I may do a tree post also!

Very pretty...I love older ornaments too; things that have been around on the tree for decades. And I think the same thing when I hang all of the Sunday School ornaments they make: Thank you Lord for those teachers! I already have enough to have a separate tree to decorate with them! :-)
